Coastscapes

Statement of Intent

‘My intention with this panel is to show simple coastscapes with balance and strong graphic appeal. Mostly photographing in low light, I love working with long exposures to give a gentle, ethereal feel to my work and impart the essence of the scene. I am fascinated about things that are found near water like rocks, posts and piers – and I use these as an integral part of my images – whether as the focal point, or counterpoint. I really enjoy using monochrome to further simplify my work. My experience as a graphic designer helps greatly when considering light, balance and composition. I am at my happiest when out with my camera at dawn or dusk.’
